I think there is a parallel to the software world.
In software, no matter how hard people try to make others use freedom software or open source software, it doesn't work because most people are not going to put in the effort.
However, if there was a seamless system that was so frictionless to use that was totally freedom software, people would use it.
Similarly, I think a problem at the current stage of the world is that there is bad leaders so people will choose the least bad leader to follow, but they still will follow. So, instead we must choose to be good leaders ourselves, or find them in time such that one can easily say, just vote for that person, or let them lead the region to peace.
After that point, we can start arguing about how to make societies more anti-fragile or deeper political structures, but just like with software, you can argue all you want about freedom software, but if we are not getting there, we should focus on getting there first.
Being a politician shouldn't be a "job" and being a SaaS salesman shouldn't be either, but they are, because there is no other option. So their economies will follow.
Once you fix the leaders, there will be no more economics to follow, and the rest should fall in order.
Even in war, the people point to leaders and that group is their fight, government leaders or not. Humans like to defer thought to a higher power, a government, a person, a group, ... hence why even though there may be a lot of ideas, people assimilate into left or right and take the rest of the bandwagon with them.
But I don't think humans are stuck being this way, we can change. But before we have time to do that, we need to have a solution right now.
