DRM on ebooks really shouldn't be a thing. It's easy enough to remove (fortunately), defeating the point of of it entirely. At the same time it's super annoying for legitimate customers, so much that I often ignore ebooks that use any kind of DRM.
- lxgr 3y agoI agree. The one use case where I can kind of understand it are library books; purchased books have no business being DRMed. If it works for the music industry (basically all purchases are DRM-free since the iTunes store dropped theirs), why shouldn't it work for publishing?
