While Google is waging war against adblockers on YouTube they are once again showing they absolutely cannot be trusted with the responsibility of showing safe ads.
That, and them showing war videos in ads to little kids.
- Tostino 3y agoWhile stopping journalists from using any footage of war regardless of context.
- hkt 3y agoMy seven year old kept being advertised shaving equipment, including razors. Obviously they know dad has a massive beard. Jokes aside though, I'd rather nobody be piqueing his interest in blades so I've adblocked the entire house.
- Obscurity4340 3y agoIt's be funny if there was baby shaving cream—like baby shampoo but shaving cream and for babies (as advertised on bottle)
- bluGill 3y agoThere is. Goes with a plastic razor that won't cut anything. I've seen it before, it might or might not still be in the toy section of your local WalMart.
- Obscurity4340 3y agoVaguely remember the Hulk shaving kit. If I ever had a son, he would totes be receiving one like immediately for the bath aha
- Obscurity4340 3y agoThere's something so adorable and poignant about your "little man" emulating Hulk for your woman
- petee 3y agoIm constantly reporting ads that are inappropriate, scams, or flat out illegal, usually they are back within a week or two, if they even get removed at all. My favorites are the dumb-brick phone charger that "magic defrags your phone", and the micro-ghost pistol.
- martin_a 3y agoI did so too. Only that often, that I'm no longer able to report any ads at all.
- petee 3y agoIf you can, you should escalate with google support. Thats pretty bullshit that they expect users to report ads, but penalize them for doing so. I pay, and if they cut me off for helping do their job, I'd be livid. Maybe being a paying customer is the reason they haven't blocked me yet
- Sanzig 3y agoI see so many binary options scam ads on YouTube, often with a very poorly deepfaked Elon Musk as a spokesman. Google never takes them down. Maybe I should start reporting them to the securities regulator in my province instead - binary options were banned in Canada a few years ago as they are a haven for scammers and con artists. That might get better results.
- iinnPP 3y agoI recently resolved a long standing issue with Loblaws by working with the Competition Bureau. It takes a long time though. Maybe that will help
- dogleash 3y ago> they absolutely cannot be trusted with the responsibility of showing safe ads That would mean having someone screen the ads. Google would need Foxconn nets for any building where they task people with watching youtube ads.
