Yes, I do. I'm originally from a bad country (Russia) but right now live in a good country (Poland). I still do some work in the bad country and USDT is basically the only inexpensive, easy, and fast way to transfer money from the bad country to the good country.
- Arainach 3y agoSo the big use case of crypto is evading and violating international sanctions?
- throwawayrupl 3y agoI don't violate any sanctions by sending my personal income from Russia to Poland. And it's still possible to send Swift from Russian bank to Polish bank. But it takes a lot of time to arrive and commissions are ridiculous.
- lesuorac 3y agoWell they use it to avoid international sanctions but International Remittance is extremely common. The fees of which are estimated to be over 5% [1]; I mean imagine losing 5% of your paycheck just because of currency problems! The current Etherum TX fee is 0.0004 which at 1 ETH / 1,573.09 USD comes out to 62 cents. Would your rather pay 5% of your transfer to send money home to your family or 62 cents? - Arainach 3y agoI would gladly pay 5% to support enforcement denying funds transfer to war criminals.
- EVa5I7bHFq9mnYK 3y agoDo you realize the OP's use case involves funds transfer FROM war criminals? An average European, however, filling her car by gas imported from Russia (by way of Indian refineries), is transferring funds TO war criminals.
- hnfong 3y agoAre you paying your 5% dues? And why aren't you? Talk is dirt cheap.
