I don’t blame the tooling, there’s nothing stopping you from creating an old school PHP website.
I blame the audience. These JS frameworks and cloud-everything services exist to shave every possible millisecond off from the experience because we all have the attention spans of a goldfish now.
- Telemakhos 3y agoI made my personal website mostly static (just some Apache server-side includes) with no js. It’s astounding how much faster it is than any other website I use. If you really want to get the goldfish audience, eschew the scripting.
- born2discover 3y agoAccording to the lore a goldfish has an attention span of about 3 seconds, are you sure humans nowadays have one *that long* ?
