- bell-cot 3y agoVastly worse, but not mentioned, is yawning price chasm between what the farmer is paid for bulk wheat / corn / etc., vs. what the consumer is charged for colorful boxes of breakfast cereal. Example: Current farm prices are ~$7.50 per 60-pound bushel of wheat. Vs. a quick check on Amazon says you'd pay $200 to $720+ for 60 pounds of "all-wheat" branded breakfast cereal.
