Here's the charity responsible for this bridge and several others in London: https://www.citybridgefoundation.org.uk/about/history https://www.citybridgefoundation.org.uk/about/history Founded in 1122, which is quite something!
- ajb 3y agoThey used to obtain funds by renting out space on the bridge, so the old bridges used to have houses and shops on them - cantilevered or to the sides.
