It seems pretty straightforward to me. Someone who writes a blog for money is going to 1) Spend more time on it, because it is their source of income and not a hobby. They don't have to just do it in their spare time. 2) Be motivated to write it even when they don't feel like it, therefore putting out a more consistent product and gaining more readers. 3) Be more motivated to generate an audience, meaning advertising their blog and/or writing content that will generate a lot of clicks. In short, you are more likely to encounter blogs written by people trying to make money because they are going to do more things to get the blog in front of you, in order to make that money.
