Yeah, I provided a side project once during an interview process and the only feedback I got related to my use of the 'static' keyword and how that could introduce an undesirable side effect when deploying into a web server (or something like that.) Not sure where they got the idea that the side project would ever be used in that way, unless they were trying to do that themselves.
