I was curious so I did some back of the napkin math:
On ethereum you get:
~3 gas per instruction
15 million gas per block
12s per block
~420000 instructions per second
From online sources of stable diffusion on a GTX 1050 at 20 steps:
40 seconds to generate
1.8 TFLOPS at full precision
70 trillion instructions
That's around 5.2 years.
If you account for a lack of floating point instructions (a ~34x instruction
overhead) that's 180 years per image.
