John Legend Looks to Take on Yelp and Google Reviews with His First Tech Startup
- gnicholas 3y ago> The company raised $5 million in funding this month from investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners. That doesn't seem like very much money to take on Yelp and Google Reviews. > The app launched in March with a select group of users and is currently invite-only. I guess your burn rate is lower if you're in private beta for 6+ months, but presumably the early adopters they're courting (Jessica Alba, David Change, Minka Kelly) probably wouldn't want to use a platform that is too rough.
- bediger4000 3y agoDoes he allow zero, or even negative star reviews? If so, I'm in. There's a towing company near Denver that needs some zero star reviews.
- gnicholas 3y agoI do wish that zero starts were allowed on Yelp. When a business has 3/5 stars it's really 2/4 if zero isn't an option. That sounds much more mediocre than 3/5.
