- orionblastar 3y agoThe Atari 2600 was designed as a simple video game system like Pong or Breakout. It wasn't designed for complex games per se. Almost every game could be played without a user manual because they were so simple. The Atari 5200 had better graphics and sound but didn't do as well as the 2600.
