To me, the resignation was linked to thinking of the consequences. At first the (fictional) manager just did what he was told, then quickly thought of it, and instead of fighting it, put a stop on it. Moral grounds, economic grounds (the fear of discrimination lawsuit is economic), etc. This is all fiction, but while I always thought snooping on a (potential) employee via any way (including FB) was morally wrong, this fictional story just opened the eye wider why it is wrong.
