Companies are more likely to settle legal claims when an acquisition is in process. > Silicon Valley telecommunications stalwart Cisco announced in September that it would buy Splunk in a massive $28 billion cash deal, the largest deal ever made by the longtime tech company. However, it sounds like he was just fired in August, so it could totally unrelated. If so, the timing will give him great leverage.
