Is it just me, or does the person who wrote this sound like a snob?
* "In a startup, you can’t afford to hire B-players."
* "...a technique I’ve come to call it the “average-need-not-apply” method."
* "You saved yourself from hiring a B-player, or worse."
* "...employers can make better hiring decisions and make the hiring process better for everyone involved – except maybe the B-players."

- amcintyre 15y ago"You saved yourself from hiring a B-player, or worse." As somebody that's probably not up to "A-player" status for this guy, I'd consider myself lucky if this method saved me from getting hired by anybody using it.
- edandersen 15y agoThis is the language of "TopGrading", a hiring methodology.
- amcintyre 15y agoOh dear. Is this a thing now? Thanks for the heads up...looks like I have another set of snake-oil buzzwords to watch out for.
- eli_gottlieb 15y agoOh, good, a methodology! That should help with their lack of actual brains and heart.
- kghose 15y agoDon't forget the Stanford name drop.
