Bricklaying robots can now build tennis-court-sized walls in 4 hours
- RecycledEle 3y agoI can imagine (years from now) renting one of these from the home improvement store and only paying a bit more then the "bricks" and adhesive to build a building. I wonder where this will take tiny houses. I wish I had the capital to build the equivalent of trailer parks but with tiny houses near where people work and go to school.
- local_crmdgeon 3y agoYou're describing a cottage court: https://missingmiddlehousing.com/types/cottage-court https://missingmiddlehousing.com/types/cottage-court They're great, if you want to build them you should. World needs a shitload of small-time developers.
- local_crmdgeon 3y agoThis is great, but as always, doesn't address the land supply issue. Reducing the cost of construction is pointless when you can't build in SF/NYC/LA. This just makes the margins on the construction that does happen high, which is good I guess? For real fixes, you need to push for YIMBY reforms.
