I stayed at a hotel that was having a massive cloud outage and I couldn't get my room key at check-in. That night I had dream that on-prem became the new cloud. State was beautifully synced with CRDTs. In this dream, systems never went down, the data just became temporarily stale. Then I woke up.

I guess the rooms themselves had some redundant power or was wired to a different grid. That night I had a dream about having room assignment logs sent to a printer. When the power went out there was a log to flip through so that there was a manual way to determine where everyone was staying in the hotel.
