If I'll ever get to be 75, the world won't be able to stop me from trying to figure out what the kids are memeing about. Currently 26.

- lesuorac 3y agoI'm sure before you hit 75 you'll start to intentionally call things the wrong name rather then figure out what the right one is. People get enough of the message when you say that johnny is in the backroom playing wii.
- InitialLastName 3y agoI've got a decade on you: One day you'll hopefully find that the more important parts of your life have expanded in scope to where you just don't have the capacity to care what the kids are memeing about. I hear there's a brief resurgence when it's your kids doing the memeing, but by then you're too far out of date.
- garblegarble 3y agoI too thought this when I was 26, I'm 36 now. The world won't stop you, but you may also find you just don't care enough to - you have to be spending a lot of time interactively engaging in a culture to be native to the memes, and that takes a lot of time that you might want to spend learning about / doing other things. Also starting to realise that my "they can't stop me gaming when I'm 80!" attitude will be self-limited by joint pain at some point... probably in exactly the same way as previous generations, just s/gaming/popular activity of the era/
- isk517 3y agoYeah, I'm 37 and Simpsons 'I use to be with it' quote hits a bit harder with every passing year. The good news is I think the fact that more focus is being put into accessibility options in games means there is a chance they will not be able to stop us from gaming when we're 80.
