Reddit's ex-CEO Yishan Wong: Bill Gates is wrong about trees
- LinuxBender 3y agoFor what it's worth, humans need not plant trees either way. Squirrels and chipmunks bury seeds and forget where about 70% of them are. That plus wind and wildfires are how most things are planted in the wild. My 14 chipmunks have planted sunflowers along my entire fence-line. They are a bit spoiled
- pestatije 3y agoyour world view is too localised...theres no chipmunks where there are no trees...i dont understand why would anyone be against planting trees...its one of the four things to do in life for fucks sake: grow, mate, plant a tree, and die
- LinuxBender 3y agoi dont understand why would anyone be against planting trees My point is that it does not matter what humans do or do not do. Even if humans ceased to exist there would be plenty of trees planted. If anything the lack of humans would mean less logging but I am one of the odd-ball weirdos against using wood in homes. I should add that I love it when people do plant trees but more often than not it plays out as "Oh cool they are plan.... stop!" as I see them planting saplings facing the wrong direction I find myself yelling at Youtube old man yelling at clouds. That's yet another reason I am fine with the hard work that Squirrels and Chipmunks put in by mistake. The seeds work out fine.
