Is there any connection between introversion and conflict avoidance?

- ofalkaed 3y agoFrom the extroverts perspective, probably? Introverts and extroverts view conflict differently and what is conflict to one may not be conflict to the other. As an introvert part of life is understanding that what to me is a sincere question and desire to understand will be seen as argumentative by most extroverts outside of the intimate one on one sort of conversation and even then can be touchy.
- timeagain 3y agoOn the other hand, two extroverts can seem like they are having a nasty dispute to an onlooking introvert, then immediately go get dinner together. Lawyers come to mind in this regard.
- ofalkaed 3y agoAnd the reverse is true which was my point, both sides see conflict differently. Introverts will generally not see courtroom disputes between lawyers as conflict, they will see it as fulfilling their role as lawyers which is something fairly natural to introverts.
- hinkley 3y agoMake orange cats perhaps? They have lower survivability in the wild and better in captivity. Now the one could be a factor of camouflage, but doesn’t explain the other. The current theory is that there’s some correlation between orange genes and outgoing/risk taking genes. Being impulsively friendly as a pet is a plus, being impulsive as a feral gets you killed.
