Windows is a commodity. They do this because they cant turn it into a premium platform like macOS is. It would require a massive cultural shift on Microsoft part to make these changes and I don't think they plan on doing it. Quite the opposite in fact. We will see more software like MS Teams which will suck but will be good enough to capture the market.
