this is the same corporation that considers it "fair use" when their LLM copies code from github without obeying the terms of the license so you shouldn't feel guilty at all about pirating windows.
- Hammershaft 3y agoFrankly I'd rather pay a subscription for a quality operating system that meaningfully improves over time then get a free one that feeds me ads, wastes my time, and frustrates me. I'm just skeptical MS is capable of delivering on a higher quality OS.
- readams 3y agoUnfortunately I think what we'll get is an operating system that you pay for and that feeds you ads and wastes your time. Both are possible!
- ssnistfajen 3y agoWhy not require a subscription and then still show ads to subscribers? It's what the leeches I mean shareholders must've wanted.
- Tommstein 3y agoWhich is exactly what will happen.
- snickerbockers 3y agoThey can even take a page out of paramount+'s book by charging extra for an "ad-free" tier that merely shows you less ads than the other tiers.
