- wryoak 3y agoI think I generally pick up smoking/vaping again due to acute stress, and after a quick ramp up back to dependence I start suffering the chronic stress of needing a smoke, if I may add a little nuance to this addendum But I do like the stress vs abuse framing because it focuses attention on intervention and treatment rather than the scaremongering discouragement to which most people’s sense of personal exceptionalism provides immunity (nah, I won’t get addicted)
