Damn I remember this. The feeling of booting up a full GUI system with PPP dialing and a browser off of a 1.44MB disk was incredible. I played with it for days.

- fuzztester 3y agoYeah. IIRC, the GUI was called Photon. I wonder why so many lighter, good products don't do well, while heavier, worse ones do. (The "worse is better" thing.) (1) Good at tech but bad at marketing? Not enough financial clout? Or don't know how to, or don't want to, wine and dine corporate buyer honchos? Ugh. Would be particularly interesting to hear from software creators who created a better product, compete(d) against a worse one (or vice versa), and failed or succeeded, and why they think it worked out the way it did.
