Synsepalum Dulcificum (Miracle Berry)
- edgineer 3y agoThinkGeek used to sell pills made of miracle fruit powder. Made for a neat party trick, turning everything sweet.
- upon_drumhead 3y agoThe pills are widely available on Amazon and still are fun every so often.
- 1propionyl 3y agoGood memories from back in the day of trying these with friends while on LSD. At least one person did get a stomach ache from being a little too gung ho about eating raw lemon and drinking apple cider vinegar. It might have been me...
- 1propionyl 3y agoThey don't really turn _everything_ sweet. It's more that they make acidic things taste sweet instead. So, lemons will taste like lemonade and cider vinegar closer to cider... but cheese will just taste like cheese, if a little off.
- jareklupinski 3y agoah yes. I used to _hate_ Guinness Miracle Fruit Tablets were trendy about a decade ago while I was hanging out with a bunch of friends, we all bought the foods/drinks we hated and got together for a tasting party my Guinness tasted _exactly_ like a chocolate milkshake. While it doesn't taste as good without the miracle berry today, it still changed my mind enough about it to enjoy a pint 'clean' now
