Linux on RISC-V on Arduino Uno
- lagrange77 3y ago> Complete boot time (from start to shell) is about 15 hours and 44 minutes.
- jamesy0ung 3y agoYeah I'm tempted to put it on a breadboard with a 24mhz crystal and see how much faster it is
- sylware 3y agoCorollary: anybody knows if such a mini board with plenty of GPIOs and usb-c (device/host/board power) and a risc-v MCU, but 64bits, does exists? (This would be for a 100% 64bits risc-v assembly keyboard firmware).

More options in this nice list[1]. >(This would be for a 100% 64bits risc-v assembly keyboard firmware). I would go with a small FPGA (iCE40 e.g. LP640 or LP1K, or GW1N) and SERV[2]. 0. https://milkv.io/duo https://milkv.io/duo 1. https://codeberg.org/20-100/Awesome_RISC-V/src/branch/master/RISC-V_MCU_development_boards.pdf https://codeberg.org/20-100/Awesome_RISC-V/src/branch/master... 2. https://github.com/olofk/serv https://github.com/olofk/serv
- sylware 3y agomilk-v duo seems to be it: full 64bits, namely, 64bits risc-v code paths "coded once and for all" (enable efficient assembly code reuse across desktop/server/embeded). There is something weird with GPIO programming though: it seems GPIOs have a strange split between the MCU and the co-processor "domain". Hopefull, we get a real access to those 25?28? GPIOs. That said, the mpeg encoder is too much, and mpeg will want the licencing fees (in countries where this is legal). Removing it could save significant bucks on such cheap SOC. BTW the codeberg.org document is just amazing! Hopefully, RISC-V SOC devs will realize they should avoid mpeg and use av1, and avoid hdmi and use displayport (usb-c)...
- sylware 3y agoI wonder how much more FPGA gates a 64bits RISC-V core will require compared to a 32bits RISC-V core.
