How Seed Oils Were Demonized
- jtbayly 3y agoIt’s always amazing to me how completely (religiously?) committed people are to brand new dietary theories that are always unproven.
- bell-cot 3y agoIt's mostly a fashion thing, and the industry knows that well-to-do consumers are willing to pay a large price premium for $Latest_Trendy_Food.

- JoeAltmaier 3y agoContent-free article. Repeats essentially randomly-plucked-from-the-air rations of fatty acids with no evidence nor support. From 'gurus' and biased folks with books to sell. No information here; move on.
- jtbayly 3y agoUmm... that was the point of the article. There's only gurus and biased folks and no evidence or support for the claim that seed oils are bad for you. They also linked to their main article on the broader topic of diet fads, which links to 6 different studies on this one topic.

- DemocracyFTW2 3y agoThey do link to another article https://reason.com/2023/10/14/take-nutrition-studies-with-a-grain-of-salt/ https://reason.com/2023/10/14/take-nutrition-studies-with-a-... where they discuss how nutritional studies in general provide very little in the way of truly evidence-based knowledge of the kind you'd expect from other medical fields.
