Currently my mother in law uses iPhone XS I got back in 2018. Is very happy with it. It's the original battery in it still. The problem is manufacturers of Android phones that stop meaningful software updates and support basically directly after sale. iPhone have 8 years lifespan easily today. EU should mandate 10-12 years. I look forward to Samsung et al following that.
