In Germany government finances nearly all of them, except those which are financed by Russia and China ( Extinction Rebellion for example). 90% of ecological NGOs are just business or politics agents lobbying for bailout for inefficient technologies of renewables. They are inefficient not beca6 of technology, but because bailout allows it to be completely useless ( intermittent) while financially profitable. Sustainability however should start from economical sustainability especially at energy market. The worst thing for democracy is NGO having political influence.
