Mozilla Connect Ideas – Vote on Firefox Features
- jerojero 3y agoMaybe I can vote for tab groups like chrome has it. Grouped by color and clicking on them expands/contracts the group. I use simple tab extension currently, it's okay. But it's not what I want.
- jerojero 3y agoI'm going to hijack my own comment. This is the currently most requested feature on this page. I guess the page is more of a "Vote on Firefox Features (that we actually want to implement)" rather than actually doing what the users want.
- grantith 3y agoTry the sideberry extension for Firefox.
- marc_abonce 3y agoThis is really cool, I had no idea that this has been going on for at least over a year now. It looks like Firefox for Android will be getting more extension support by the end of this year according to the last comment here: https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/expand-add-on-compatibility-in-firefox-for-android/idi-p/191 https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/expand-add-on-compatibi...
- ixmerof 3y agoThere's an ongoing communication to prepare for this update upfront: https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2023/08/10/prepare-your-firefox-desktop-extension-for-the-upcoming-android-release/ https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2023/08/10/prepare-your-fire... https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2023/09/27/test-firefox-android-extensions-and-help-developers-prepare-for-an-open-mobile-ecosystem-in-december https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2023/09/27/test-firefox-andr...
- azurenumber 3y agoWhen trying to log in, why does it says in the authetication email "KHRONOS PROD" ?
- RadiozRadioz 3y agoThis social media platform, while it's styled with Mozilla CSS, is a product made by Khoros. From what I can tell, they're a company that makes these gray label discussion boards and social media apps for other companies. Unfortunately it's a proprietary solution. I was a little surprised to find that Khoros has over 1k employees; this product can't be cheap.
- Am4TIfIsER0ppos 3y agoThey have to spend all that donation money on things that aren't browser development.
- DiabloD3 3y agoI love how they opened this, just so they can bury decade-old discussions on features that have occurred on the mailing list and Bugzilla. "Hey, remember that thing I asked for, and a pull request for this feature is was possibly moving forward?" "Yeah, no, we're setting discussion on it back to step zero, get upvotes on Connect before we'll consider a pull request." One step forwards, two step back: The Mozilla Way(tm). Disclaimer: I'm a Firefox user, even with this massive stone around our collective necks, still better than whatever the hell Chrome thinks it is.
- regularjack 3y agoI guess you can't win, if you're mozilla. An initiative that gives users more power to influence Firefox direction? Nah, it's just a 4D-chess-y way of burying old issues.
- DiabloD3 3y agoYou can't succeed as an open source project if you're not committed to engaging with the outside developers sending you patches, and giving them no meaningful feedback on why the ticket for the patch is zombie-open for years. You call it 4D Chess, I call it mismanagement. Google, just happens, to be bankrolling the mismanagement by buying their monopoly in the search world.
