Nah, I already did the "do what you love" shtick during the first half of my career working as a researcher living paycheck to paycheck. After I got my first job in the private sector I figured out that, you know what? actually I like being able to pay bills, buy stuff, go out for dinner, and generally lead a comfortable middle class lifestyle. In any event I'm not exactly nihilistic. I believe better places to work exist, but my visa prevents me from changing employers. When the time comes we'll see if the grass is greener.
