Ideas I've had so far: - dry out desiccant using sunlight or other heat ? - waste heat while the A/C is in operation helps dry the desiccant? - take advantage of some natural humidity difference to partially dry it? - take advantage of other sources of waste heat, which are semi-plentiful in environments where you use A/C, to dry it? That said, none of these happen at night, which is when the article says it's dried... also some would involve physically moving the desiccant around which magnifies complexity...
