The summary seems to focus a bit more about fringe right wing theories. But there are some increasingly common extreme left views that include violence (eg “Eat the rich”). Not to mention the recent glorification of actions of Hamas by people choosing to see it as just a normal revolutionary action.

- PaulHoule 3y agoOne interesting statistic is When asked if "American democracy only serves the interest of the wealthy and powerful," 36% of the participants agreed strongly or very strongly. which is a left-leaning belief but I suspect you will find some Trump supporters believe it too (e.g. isn't that implicit in something like the QAnon theory?) and also the near consensus that large percentage of the survey participants—81.7%—said they felt the country was generally headed in the wrong direction. I am very much interested in the detailed beliefs that add up to a general perception of illegitimacy and the possibility that those can be reversed. As for Hamas I cannot support what they do, but I cannot support Israel wholeheartedly as I see politicians like Benjamin Netanyahu and Ariel Sharon are playing a very long game towards the end of "getting rid" of the Palestinians and every event like this is an opportunity to expel some of them and over the course the next 100 years or so shape the population of the region. If you look at how genociders think they fundamentally are thinking about centuries and not the next election. If the Palestinians were to develop a realistic plan it may be to do what the Jewish people did when they were kicked out by the Romans, to develop a strong diaspora that will find strength in exile whereas without a threat the Israelis might very well follow the cycle of getting fat and lazy and losing their path.
