I am a fan of Ikea lights.
I can use normal light switches to turn the light on/off.
But I also have a remote and I can dim the lights or change the temperature.
No hub needed. The price is low enough.
And Ikea will probably stay in business a long time.
- fragmede 3y agoBuying their hub enables you to use an app on your phone to control the lights, if you so desire.
- theshrike79 3y agoYou can do the same with Philips Hue. And just like the Ikea one, it's just a bit better with the hub.
- mrmlz 3y agoAnd the best thing is that they speak zigbee and you can ditch their hubs and use homeassistant if you want to avoid any lock-in! I've actually had two Ikea Trådfri switches break though - they are cheap enough to replace but bit bothersome.
