There is another considerable danger: people in denial of what's happening, becoming involuntary spreaders of deglobalization by performing the rituals that used to bring back the illusion of endless progress, physics and stubborn tardedness of mankind be damned. These old world zombies are a danger to themselves and others, delaying adaption, giving ever more territory to mad ideas and authoritarians.
- barrysteve 3y agoThe 'illusion of endless progress' is the knowledge that built the internet in the first place. Many of the concepts were first established from the 1800s, and 1920s-1980s. I am so, so tired of the constant ragging on the past as if it was another planet. And the persecution of brits and agnostics. If the old world guys were geniunely a dangerous impact on the world, we wouldn't be so unknowing by default. There's a constant thread of fate spun from The Past to today's technology and to say otherwise is a catastrophe. You're going to get the complete removal of old world zombies, there's no choice. And it's going to create a vacuum that sucks you down with it.
