I'm also irritated by how the SI prefixes get abused here - saying TEN THOUSAND MILLIAMPERE-HOURS is just stupid when people rarely need to compare that to sub-Ah capacities. Why shouldn't we go further and start using nAh?
Storage capacity seems to deserve proper prefixes instead of madness like 100 000 000 kB.
- Joker_vD 3y agoIt's not an abuse, just as 2000 kilometres (that's 2 megametres!) or 200 grams (that's 2 hectagrams!) or even 20 milligrams (that's 2 centigrams!) are not. One of the points of prefixed units was that a field could find "base" resolution for their measurements such that most of those could be integer multiplies of some chosen unit.
