Cancer microbiom paper results questioned in new publication
- JPLeRouzic 3y agoQuestion from a noob: I just browse the Wikipedia page from this person who is a well known computer scientist with a specialization on genome sequencing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Salzberg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Salzberg But there is no mention of the word "cancer" in this wiki page. While I perfectly understand that the classical view from "the hallmarks of cancer" (that I read several times) is that cancer implies a strong involvement of genetics defects, I think that now there is a more complex view of cancer diseases. For example the number of publications on microbial involvement in cancer exploded in recent years. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=microbe+cancer&sort=date https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=microbe+cancer&sort=da... Could someone enlighten me?
