Once people know something is possible with video games, they tend to imitate it fairly well across platforms. I like to use Street Fighter 2 as an example… good ports on PCE, SNES, Genesis.. and surprisingly decent bootlegs on NES and others. But until it hit arcades, there was nothing else like it.
