I thought I read DSLRs are dead? Everyone is making mirrorless now?
- sbarre 3y agoThe point he's making is about the sensor and the glass, not the mechanics of the camera body?
- neogodless 3y agoThe R6 is marketed as a mirrorless DSLR. Obviously the SLR part isn't accurate but the way you use the camera with interchangeable lenses is about the same. So for the user it's just a technology and feature upgrade more so than a new product.
- haswell 3y agoMost of the manufacturers are focused on mirrorless, but the DSLR market is still alive. Pentax has bucked the trend and has continued to release new DSLRs as recently as this year.
- FalconSensei 3y agoppl also use DSLR to refer to the body type
- sib 3y agoMostly, yes, but not completely. A better generic term might be an ILC (interchangeable lens camera).
- vGPU 3y agoIt’s essentially become a common term like Kleenex.
