I tried to improve at presentations for a while. Now I basically just don't agree to do those or similar tasks. It might limit my career advancement a little, but really us software engineers make enough already, we don't need to torment ourselves by performing for people for more money. Forget "leadership" and advancement and do the parts of the job we enjoy and are actually good at. PS 90% of all presentations are a waste of time, so the world doesn't even need this from you.
