The forced SMS 2FA that banks and credit card companies have started implementing infuriates me for exactly this reason.
- Tijdreiziger 3y agoThat’s not so much a problem, because you can always go into a bank office and show ID.
- hansvm 3y agoEspecially when they migrate previously password-only accounts to requiring what they think your phone number might be, and especially given that it costs under $15 to borrow somebody's phone number for the day without their knowledge.
- qingcharles 3y agoI need to find one of these services so I can borrow my old phone number for a few minutes to get back into my Google account before it is erased at the end of the year in Google's oncoming purge.
