- cies 15y agoThis is one of the tools I evaluated, before I decided to make my own. Look at the differences: http://nitens.org/cv/cv.pdf http://nitens.org/cv/cv.pdf https://github.com/cies/resume/blob/master/cies-breijs-resume.pdf?raw=true https://github.com/cies/resume/blob/master/cies-breijs-resum... I think CVtex uses far too much whitespace, in his case yielding a whopping 7-page resume. But luckily tastes differ :)
- stfu 15y agoWould love to see more variations on that. My own CV looks very similar to the CVtex version but the length becomes quite a problem - on the other hand I find the githup version too much squeezed down and "wordy". Any other alternatives?
- o1iver 15y agoHere is mine: http://o1iver.net/cv.pdf http://o1iver.net/cv.pdf (code at https://github.com/o1iver/CV https://github.com/o1iver/CV).
- cies 15y ago> I find the githup version too much squeezed down and "wordy" It's up to the author how much words here uses. I use the summary on top, which totally optional.. Looking that the coe you can see that everything is simply Latex, therefor easy to modify. The level-squeezedness is part of this design, if you don't like that then I guess it's better to look further. Maybe it easy to squeeze the CVtex template a little.
- ionfish 15y agoThey do—yours looks unreadably compressed to me.
- ajray 15y agoThat was part of the inspiration for mine, https://github.com/machinaut/XeTeX-Resume/blob/master/moderncv/ajray-resume.pdf?raw=true https://github.com/machinaut/XeTeX-Resume/blob/master/modern... (the github repo has all of the source). Dario Taraborelli's other articles are the reason I use XeTeX instead of LaTeX. It's a good format, and I like having a bit of color in mine (and the QR code is just a bit of nerd-edgy).
- dfc 15y agoJust my opinion but there is nothing edgy about a QR code... More generally what is the point of a QR code on a resume anyway?
