Tell HN: Twitter forces you to log in to unsubscribe from emails
I haven't used it for ages but my promotions tab is full of random tweets they send me.
I hit unsubscribe and was taken to the login screen.
This isn't legal, right? I swear there was some law..
- jzombie 3y agoCAN-SPAM Act (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography And Marketing Act) of 2003. Perhaps, auto-forward them to spam@uce.gov w/ some sort of preface that you can't unsubscribe.
- altdataseller 3y agoFacebook does the same thing. If you click unsubscribe, you need to login first
- gymbeaux 3y agoI feel like many “unsubscribe” links don’t actually unsubscribe me, so I just block the email addresses as they come in now. “Please allow up to 48 hours for this change…” nah I’ll just block sender.
- pawelduda 3y agoThen I'd use the universal unsubscribe button aka report spam
