Alvis: Never Get Paged Again
- aquariusDue 3y agoLink to blog post about Alvis: https://xeiaso.net/blog/alvis/ https://xeiaso.net/blog/alvis/ I'm torn, on one hand it feels like a useful application of LLMs and on the other I'm worried there's a non-obvious way it could really mess up. But that's an unfounded guess until proven. EDIT: Oops, this is satire. Now I know how people who took The Onion at face value felt.
- skepticATX 3y agoOne of the “features” of the Enterprise plan is: > Artificial General Intelligence This may be a useful tool, but do we really need to do this?
- femiagbabiaka 3y agoI think it's a joke
- yodon 3y agoAny time one is tempted to post sarcasm on the Internet, it's a good idea to re-read Poe's law[0] first. [0]https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poe%27s_law https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poe%27s_law
- MuffinFlavored 3y ago> Automatically respond to production incidents with our industry-leading AI. Alvis will diagnose the problem and fix it. I'm pretty sure my manager would be pretty pissed if they paged me and got this... Not only that, in (some) fintec space, LLM/AI is banned because the corporation does not feel comfortable uploading source code to anything non-hosted other than GitHub (which doesn't make a ton of sense but...)
- jedberg 3y agoThis page is satire right?
- soamv 3y agoYes, and rather nicely done I think. The tagline in the footer is "Give ChatGPT root in prod. What could possibly go wrong?"
- jedberg 3y agoYeah that plus the claim of AGI in the Enterprise plan tipped me off. But you're right, I was momentarily convinced this was real and was about to very tactfully tell them they were destined for failure. :)
- xena 3y agoI am accepting investment in this idea should you be interested.
- Brian_K_White 3y agoIt is completely reasonable and defensible to belive that someone would make the claim and try to flog such a product.
- Twisol 3y agoIs Alvis named after the character of the same name in Xenoblade Chronicles? (Spoiler warning if you haven't played: the XC Alvis is also an AI.)
- jareklupinski 3y agoi wonder if that "AI game dev team" from the recent Two Minute Papers video had an "incident response" agent
