I now regret making this remark. My purpose was not to be dismissive of economics as a proper science. It was just a clarification the this prize is not part of the Alfred Nobel's will, it was instituted in 1968 by Sweden's central bank (in a way that you might call a bit shady). Nowadays, Swedish media is quite good at making this distinction, but international media is still rather confused about this.
