Foothill College Observatory, Los Altos Hills, is open to the public Fri & Sat:

They also have occasional events and lectures.
It hasn't changed much since I was a docent in 1976.
- Gibbon1 3y agoAnother small one that is worth a side trip is Robert Ferguson Observatory in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. Not really on the way but close enough is Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park which has a gold rush era grist mill.
