Con:
- Dependence on a mercurial billionaire’s company for a vital service - these satellites will eventually need to be replaced. The same billionaire also operates a rival service, it will be a conflict of interest not in your favor.
- panick21_ 3y agoMusk is so incredibly 'mercurial' that he has been the longest running CEO of a space company and the company has performed exceptionally with incredibly reliability and literally most of the world, including Dod, NASA, ESA, tons of other government and most commercial space costumers in the world relay on it and have done so for a long time. It seems people sometimes move focus and believe Twitter drama directly means SpaceX is some wildcard, while by literally every piece of evidence it isn't. > it will be a conflict of interest not in your favor. SpaceX has already made the policy clear that they will launch competitors sats. Should that change in the future, you still got the initial benefit now. And even if you don't want to relay on that 100%, you could still do 1/2 or 1/3 of the inital launches on SpaceX.
