Ask HN: Is it only me or everyone feeling flu when seeing an AI picture?
- fatih-erikli 3y agoIt's much stronger lately. I feel uncomfortable when I see - an object placed on an image with AI. The edges look blurry usually - face that make up applied with AI like thing They look "WOW" in 2 seconds, then the magic goes out, leaves a sick feeling. I am wondering if anyone feels something similar.
- jjgreen 3y agoParticularly sensitive to uncanny valley? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley
- adastra22 3y agoFeeling flu? Not familiar with that expression. You mean feeling physically sick? Yeah that doesn’t happen to me.
- fatih-erikli 3y agoSickness, not physically, something similar to motion sickness or the feeling of sickness when you're on boat.
- Quinzel 3y agoNausea? Or disorientated? I personally don’t really care, but I think how AI recreate’s humans hand’s is disturbing.

- fatih-erikli 3y agoMaybe disorientation. Difficult to describe. It may be because of my perfectionist necessities. AI images look poor. My eyes deserve better. An image is a piece of money. If it's worth to see, I would like to download and pay for that. Otherwise I prefer text.
- Quinzel 3y agoWow ok, that is an interesting perspective! Do you mean, you don’t want to pay for AI generated art, but would rather pay for human generated art? Because I can understand that. Human generated art had actual effort go into it, you pay someone for their time and their effort, but with AI - it’s just effortless and therefore valueless??
- fatih-erikli 3y agoI pay the content I find useful. "Something looks good" isn't enough to pay.
