In the second picture in this article -- the one that's split in two with a diagonal line -- the fourth person from the left is giving the "OK" hand gesture.
Read into that what you will.
- freitzkriesler2 3y agoYou do realize that OK hand gesture was a troll job by 4chan, right? In other words, you read too much into it.
- bloopernova 3y agoIt, like Q, started out as a 4chan meme, but got coopted by the far right.
- freitzkriesler2 3y agoQ was never a 4chan "meme". Q was a tripcode user who would post cryptic messages on 4chan. The anonymous users eventually began mocking Q because they were wrong. Then some group infiltrators got right wing groups hung up on it because it was a great psyop boomer, "do nothing good guys got this" troll job.
- bloopernova 3y agoI'm using meme in the older sense[1]. Maybe replace it with "viral" or something? [1] "an element of a culture or system of behavior passed from one individual to another by imitation or other nongenetic means."
- MattRix 3y agoIt doesn’t matter how it started, it matters what it actually stands for now. In the case of that hand gesture, it really has been used intentionally by actual white supremacists (though I would argue that the woman in this particular photo might just be playing “the circle game” or something equally innocuous)
- freitzkriesler2 3y agoNo, you're getting intentionally trolled and what's sad is you keep falling for it.
- flir 3y ago"Just a joke bro" is the bad actor's go-to defence. It doesn't wash any more. Even if it is just a joke, it provides cover for true assholes. Cut it out.

- mcphage 3y agoIt has been used intentionally by white supremacists—that is true. But it has also been used by lots of people for lots of things—that was the reasoning behind the original troll, before the nationalists started doing it for real. I don’t think it would be appropriate to interpret it as being used as a white nationalist symbol without further context.
