Unfortunately many companies just have an option to delete an account. I’d love to tell them all not to sell my data.
- nxobject 3y agoI tell myself – at least when it comes to loyalty schemes – it's like wiping your disk and reinstalling everything annually. (The analogy's imperfect, wouldn't be surprised if your information was still retained, anyway.)
- alex_young 3y agoMakes sense for some things, but I’d love to not have Xfinity sell my info. Deleting my account isn’t really an option.
- SoftTalker 3y agoAssume that any data you give any online company or service will be sold and monitized and retained forever, and that "delete my account" only deletes your access to it. Make your choices accordingly.
